Good Matters (Matt Goodwin), a native of Los Angeles, made his move to Bellingham at the age of 9. After a few years of fresh northwest air, he picked up his first instrument – the Alto Saxophone. The introduction of this new form of expression fell perfectly in line with his love for music, especially blues, jazz, crooners, and Motown. After several years in jazz bands and marching bands, Matters made a move to guitar as his saxophone teacher left town for better work. After a month of guitar lessons, Matters began teaching himself which gave way to 10 years of performing at coffee houses, bars, events, and any other venue with a quarter inch plug in and a sound system – or most of the time not even that. After backpacking the world for 2 years, Matters settled back into Bellingham and met up with The Infragable Dutchman (Kristopher Dyche) and Seth Hover (Slik Dealz) to create The Dishpit Donz (A for fun, faux, krunk rap group). This reopened up an old love for Hip Hop and performance that Matters had always wanted the freedom to do. After the Donz dismantled, Matters was approached by Casey who was interested in making music to which he replied, “Well then, let’s do it.” Another chance run in with idlhnds and the group was formed and have been hitting it hard ever since.
My name is Casey. A lot of people call me C-Spot.
I started playing the trombone when I was 11.
I started rapping in high school.
I still rap and play the trombone.
I also like jokes.
DJ Idlhnds (pronunced 'Idle Hands') is a native of Bellingham, Washington, and has been creating hip-hop for more than a decade. After cutting his chops with The Educataz, a group formed with two close friends in the classrooms of Sehome High School, Idlhnds was then blessed to join forces with The Bad Tenants. As the group has evolved, so has Idlhnds, compiling an ever-growing list of guest features with local artists, and adding local DJ and MC battle titles to his belt. Most recently, Idlhnds released his first solo project enititled "Both Feet Forward." Whether laying down impressive scratches or rocking a party behind the decks - or on the mic - Idlhnds is not to be overlooked as a true dual threat DJ/MC.
